What Art?

The first image shows a side profile of a woman. She is wearing a blue tank top, with a blue headband and hair tie. She is also wearing a necklace, that is brown and has a pink gem hanging from it. Her hair is in a ponytail. Her facial expression could be described as very serious. She is in front of a red background.
The second image also shows a woman on a red background. She does not appear to be wearing anything or have any accessories. It does look she is wearing eyeshadow, eyeliner, and red lipstick. She has dirty blonde hair and her face is tilted up. She is facing forward. It almost looks like she is staring right at you.

Part One:

1. The images have differing moods. The first image is portraying a more serious and somber mood. On the other hand the second image gives a more intense feeling. The first models facial expression is serious, while the second models is more intense. The first model is standing straight, while the second model appears to be arching her shoulders in and her face up.
2. I think that the first image is an oil painting. But I think the second image is photoshopped.
3. Color plays a different role in each image. In the first image the red and the blue play into the serious and somber mood. While in the second image the red plays into the intensity of the image. So overall the color does accentuate the mood. 
4. I believe that the artist was trying to convey somberness(1st image) and intensity(2nd image). They wanted us to feel those emotions when looking at the images. I think that it was successful.
